Anyone who has used lionel solid rail track knows it is the smoothest, best traction sectional track ever made. properly installed it needs minimum maintenance. prewar or postwar, tinplate or scale, all trains run best on the rigid, precisely connected code 250 steel rails. engines without magnetraction or traction tires pull better because the flat topped steel rails have better friction than plated rails or tubular track. magnetraction grips better to the rail. rubber traction tires work as well as with any other rail form.
All original track and hardware offered on this site is genuine lionel made in the 1930’s and 1940’s. repaired track and switches contain original parts where possible and adapted original parts where originals are not available. custom pieces mate perfectly with the original track. all track is guaranteed for 12 months to function properly and not to contain any brittle ties or warped parts.

DON’T PUT UP WITH POORLY FITTING REPRO HARDWARE. INSIST ON GENUINE RAIL PLATES, BOLTS, AND NUTS TO ASSURE PROPER, SMOOTH RAIL JOINTS.
You should never get a piece of track with a glued on tie, a warped casting, bolt holes that don’t match the rail plates, or a switch that won’t throw and lock on 12 volts. any errors by us will be promptly corrected. we pay warranty postage both ways.
